Hello, I am writing this to explain what I have done at Hadrian's Wall. It was great walking Hadrian's Wall. We had a few ups and downs. We were all tired me and the other scouts. Our feet were hurting. Trust me you wouldn't want to be walking Hadrian's Wall. It is great though, we climbed up hills and had some wonderful views. I miss you.

PS I will see you soon.

Day 4

Vindolanda & The Wall

semi-overcast -18 °C

On our way to the next stint of our walk we stopped off at Vindolanda - a Roman Fort and excavation site. Archaeologists were busy excavating the land, they only find one or two items a day but their findings are outstanding, their latest find was a glass bead! They find a lot of pottery. All their finding are displayed in the on-site museum. We explored the site, looked at the bath houses, temples and the replica villages and spent time in the museum.

After leaving Vindolanda we continued on our way following the Hadrian's Wall Path. Today was tough, there were lots of steep descents and climbs but the views and sites that we saw were fantastic and made it all worth while.

Back at the ranch we were treated to an evening meal of sausage casserole and crusty bread!!! We then walked to the village park where we unwound and had lots of fun. MMMMMmmmmmm time for hot chocolate and Jaffa Cakes now!! Lets see what tomorrow brings.

Goodnight :)
